Baby Giraffes born at Marwell Zoo

Marwell Zoo in Hampshire recently celebrated the birth of two giraffes, just one week apart. One of the giraffes is now hoping for a surrogate mother to adopt him, after being rejected by his mother at birth.

The calf, an impressive 6ft tall at just three weeks old, is looking to be adopted into a family by the zoo's keepers. Biffa, already a mother to nine giraffes, is hoped to be the adoptive mother to the as yet unnamed baby.

Marwell Zoo's keepers are hoping that the youngster will be able integrate into his new family, as he is struggling to adapt to hand-rearing using goat's milk.

So when you visit Marwell Zoo, check on the young giraffe and see how well he's fitting in with Biffa and his new family.
